Position: Junior Packaging Operator
Job Summary
The Junior Packaging Operator will support safe, reliable, and efficient brewery and packaging operations while contributing to plant performance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply technical, process, continuous improvement, and individual/team development skills to support brewery improvement and plant performance.
- Follow safety procedures and use the required PPE at all times.
- Liaise with Brewing, Packaging, Production Services, Maintenance, Laboratory, Contractors, and Shift Managers to ensure reliable and quality production.
- Assist other departments when necessary, including Brewing, Engineering, and QA/QC.
- Support autonomous maintenance to maximize plant availability and operational efficiency.
- Take responsibility for assigned plant and equipment, including operation, cleaning, scheduled maintenance, breakdown response, and performance monitoring.
- Operate key equipment while maintaining appropriate waste-management standards.
- Manage materials, components, and spare parts required for assigned plant and equipment.
- Support colleagues during breakdowns and maintenance activities and participate in root cause analysis (RCA).
- Support the achievement of production plans, key performance targets, and agreed customer service levels.
- Soak beer hoses after CIP and check and record the cleanliness of soaking-bath water.
- Monitor CIP chemical levels and prepare them with brewhouse helpers when required.
- Handle chemicals and additives using the appropriate PPE and safety procedures.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma/Level 4 from a vocational-technical school, or
- BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in a similar or related position.
- Qualification in Brewing, Packaging, Engineering, or Utilities is an advantage.
- Understanding of teamwork principles, continuous improvement, preventive maintenance, and problem-solving.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and work under pressure.
