Job Description

Plan International Ethiopia is seeking a WASH Coordinator to coordinate the implementation of the ET-RRM Project and the humanitarian component of the integrated WASH, Health and Livelihood project in Oromia Regional State. The position will ensure effective project delivery, technical quality, monitoring, reporting, and alignment with Plan International's Country WASH Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of WASH projects.
  • Ensure timely and quality delivery in line with donor and organizational requirements.
  • Manage project budgets, work plans, technical designs, construction supervision, and contract administration.
  • Ensure compliance with government, donor, SPHERE, and WASH Cluster standards.
  • Prepare high-quality narrative and financial reports, project updates, success stories, and donor reports.
  • Represent Plan International in WASH coordination forums, technical working groups, and sector networks.
  • Strengthen the capacity of local partners, WASH Committees (WASHCOs), and community-based organizations through training and technical support.
  • Support knowledge management, advocacy, communication, and community engagement activities.
  • Identify and address project risks, challenges, and compliance issues.
  • Promote innovation, accountability, teamwork, and results-oriented project implementation.
  • Ensure safeguarding and Gender Equality & Inclusion (GEI) principles are integrated into project activities.
  • Support staff understanding and implementation of Plan International's safeguarding and GEI policies.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or above in:
    • Sanitary Engineering
    • Hydraulic Engineering
    • Civil Engineering
    • Water Resources Engineering
    • Environmental Health
    • or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in water supply and sanitation development, construction supervision, and contract administration.
  • Experience in feasibility studies, design, construction supervision, and contract administration of solar-powered water supply and sanitation projects.
  • Experience in solar-powered water system design, construction, operation, and maintenance.
  • Strong experience preparing BOQs, technical specifications, bid documents, evaluation documents, contract documents, and supporting negotiations.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of the WASH sector.
  • Strong project cycle management skills.
  • Experience supervising water infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of participatory Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research systems.
  • Knowledge of Water-CAD and AutoCAD is advantageous.
  • AutoCAD/Civil 3D and related design software experience is an advantage.

Languages

  • English – Required
  • Afan Oromo – Desirable
