Job Description
World Vision Ethiopia is hiring a Logistics Assistant to support fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, driver and vehicle performance, transportation coordination, and compliance with road transport and organizational safety requirements. The role involves regular field travel, including to remote locations, and supports fleet operations during routine and emergency activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare reports on vehicle performance, condition, fuel consumption, and operational issues.
- Maintain accurate vehicle service history and fleet documentation.
- Dispatch vehicles for field and town movements on a daily basis.
- Assist the Fleet Manager with monthly and quarterly fleet performance reports.
- Oversee minor vehicle repairs and routine maintenance, including tire changes and oil checks.
- Monitor vehicle performance and follow up on maintenance and repair requests.
- Ensure vehicles have essential safety equipment, including first-aid kits, fire extinguishers, and spare tires.
- Drive World Vision Ethiopia vehicles as assigned while following traffic laws and fleet policies.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain vehicle logbooks, movement records, and fuel consumption records.
- Monitor driver compliance with safety standards and organizational fleet policies.
- Liaise with the Road Transport Authority and relevant government bodies for vehicle inspections and documentation.
- Maintain records of insurance, licenses, inspections, and other vehicle documents.
- Coordinate insurance claims and follow up on accident-related matters.
- Ensure vehicles meet registration, licensing, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Diploma/Certificate in Management, Mechanical, Logistics Management, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in fleet-related activities.
- The position requires relevant fleet experience and a valid Grade Three driving license.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Good command of English.
- Knowledge of GPS tracking systems.
- Good understanding of RTA and insurance requirements.
- Strong knowledge of driving, road transport, and traffic regulations.
- Team-oriented, flexible, and willing to support colleagues.
