Job Description
Medical Teams International is seeking a Data Entry Clerk to support the collection, recording, and management of high-quality Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) data at the health center level. Working under the supervision of the MEAL Officer and PHCU Team Leader.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection & Management
- Support implementation of MEAL tools for planning, monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning.
- Assist health center staff with accurate data collection using registration books, tally sheets, and reporting tools.
- Enter weekly and monthly health service data into project databases and tracking systems.
- Monitor data completeness and identify reporting gaps.
- Conduct data cleaning, validation, and quality assurance checks.
- Maintain secure filing systems for both electronic and hard-copy MEAL documents.
Reporting & Documentation
- Support preparation of internal and donor reports.
- Compile activity data to support decision-making and program improvement.
- Produce routine summaries and maintain backup copies of reports.
- Support documentation of success stories and lessons learned.
Monitoring & Accountability
- Participate in beneficiary interviews, focus group discussions, and patient satisfaction surveys.
- Assist with accountability and complaint-response mechanisms.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of beneficiary information.
- Support data sharing and coordination with field MEAL officers and health facility staff.
Collaboration
- Coordinate routine data collection with health facilities and MEAL teams.
- Support program staff with quality data for planning and reporting.
- Contribute to safeguarding and accountability initiatives throughout program implementation.
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in:
- Health Informatics
- Information Technology
- Statistics
- Social Work
- Or a related field
Experience
- Diploma holders: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree holders: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
- Experience in humanitarian or healthcare settings is preferred.
- INGO experience is an added advantage.
