Job Description
Bethlehem Youth Academy is seeking qualified and motivated Junior Amharic & Afan Oromo Teachers to support students in developing strong foundational reading, writing, and speaking skills. The successful candidates will contribute to student academic growth, continuous assessment, examination preparation, and effective communication with parents.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach foundational reading, writing, and speaking skills in Amharic or Afan Oromo.
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans aligned with school and national curriculum standards.
- Conduct continuous assessments and prepare students for regional and national examinations.
- Monitor student progress and identify learning gaps.
- Provide appropriate remedial lessons and additional academic support.
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding students' language development and academic performance.
- Support extracurricular and after-school enrichment activities.
- Participate in school meetings, training programs, and professional development activities.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to support student development.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and productive classroom environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- BA or B.Ed. Degree in Amharic or Afan Oromo.
- 5–10 years of experience working in a private school.
- Proven experience preparing students for regional examinations.
- Fluency in Amharic and Afan Oromo with the ability to conduct classroom instruction effectively.
- Experience developing lesson plans aligned with established school and national curricula.
- Preference may be given to candidates who can teach multiple subjects.

Salary
Minimum Gross Salary: ETB 20,500
