Junior Amharic & Afan Oromo Teachers – Bethlehem Youth Academy

Key Responsibilities

• Teach foundational reading, writing, and speaking skills in Amharic or Afan Oromo.
• Develop and implement effective lesson plans aligned with school and national curriculum standards.
• Conduct continuous assessments and prepare students for regional and national examinations.
• Monitor student progress and identify learning gaps.
• Provide appropriate remedial lessons and additional academic support.
• Maintain regular communication with parents regarding students' language development and academic performance.
• Support extracurricular and after-school enrichment activities.
• Participate in school meetings, training programs, and professional development activities.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to support student development.
• Contribute to a positive, respectful, and productive classroom environment.

Qualifications & Experience

• BA or B.Ed. Degree in Amharic or Afan Oromo.
• 5–10 years of experience working in a private school.
• Proven experience preparing students for regional examinations.
• Fluency in Amharic and Afan Oromo with the ability to conduct classroom instruction effectively.
• Experience developing lesson plans aligned with established school and national curricula.
• Preference may be given to candidates who can teach multiple subjects.

Salary

Minimum Gross Salary: ETB 20,500
