Key Responsibilities

Financial Recording & General Ledger Management

• Review journal entries to ensure proper account coding and compliance with accounting standards.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger regularly.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records.
• Manage reconciliation of bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts.

Financial Closing & Reporting

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
• Ensure accuracy of the trial balance and supporting schedules.
• Prepare monthly management reports for decision-making purposes.
• Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.

Audit & Compliance

• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for external auditors.
• Coordinate audit activities and respond to audit queries.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with policies.

Tax Management

• Ensure timely filing and payment of all tax obligations.
• Maintain proper tax documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and regulations.

Risk & Control

• Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Strengthen internal financial control systems.
• Support financial planning and compliance improvements.

Additional Duties

Perform other finance-related responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.

Educational Qualification

• BA Degree in Accounting & Finance or related field.
• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• At least 2 years in a senior-level accounting position.
• Manufacturing or audit firm experience is highly preferred.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations.
• Experience in preparing audited financial statements.
• Good knowledge of IFRS.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• High integrity and attention to detail.
