Job Description
Marie Stopes International Ethiopia (MSIE) is looking for a passionate and experienced Marketing Officer – Maternity Service to plan, implement, and monitor marketing activities that strengthen the organization’s brand, increase demand for maternity services, and support the sustainability and profitability of MSIE Centres.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and lead marketing activities and events to increase brand awareness and promote MSIE Centre services.
- Plan and implement local demand-generation activities such as megaphone promotions, roadshows, community conversations, coffee ceremonies, sensitization workshops, and youth forums.
- Implement marketing campaigns at centre level and monitor their impact.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, referral partners, vendors, and community organizations.
- Ensure MSIE Centre branding is consistent with organizational branding guidelines.
- Lead centre-level demand-generation activities through appropriate social media platforms.
- Co-supervise centre promoters and provide technical support to promoters and referral partners.
- Monitor referral performance and strengthen relationships with referral partners.
- Compile weekly and monthly referral performance data for centre promoters.
- Support performance monitoring, coaching, and appraisal of centre promoters.
- Develop marketing content and obtain appropriate branding approval before publication.
- Oversee the distribution of marketing and promotional materials.
- Conduct market research to identify opportunities for growth and service promotion.
- Collaborate with MCH, BemONC, and SRH Centre managers and CSMs on marketing budgets and expenditure monitoring.
- Identify and map new Community-Based Mobilizers (CBMs) and referral partners.
- Engage and build the capacity of CBMs and referral partners to promote services and generate client referrals.
- Develop partnerships with stakeholders and organizations to promote MSIE services.
- Develop strong brand messages through media stories, success stories, awards, and internal communications.
- Develop and implement integrated brand marketing communication plans.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholder communications.
- Select and manage third-party marketing suppliers and maintain effective working relationships with them.
- Plan and monitor operational marketing activities within approved budgets and organizational guidelines.
- Monitor Advertising and Promotion (A&P) budgets and expenditures to maximize centre performance and profitability.
- Develop business-development initiatives that support centre sustainability.
- Develop communication and media strategies, coordinate with agencies, monitor implementation, and analyze results.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels of marketing and promotional materials.
- Support promotion and business development of MSIE Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Centres within target areas.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- BSc/BA in Marketing, Business Administration, Communication, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of direct relevant experience.
- Proven experience working as a Marketing Officer or in a similar position.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of marketing principles and techniques.
- Experience in market research and data analysis.
- Knowledge of statistical and marketing analysis methods.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and relevant marketing software.
- Good understanding of social media and web analytics.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
