Job Description
Bethlehem Youth Academy is seeking passionate and experienced Self-Contained Kindergarten Teachers to provide holistic early childhood education, care, and development in a safe and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide holistic care and early childhood instruction for kindergarten students.
- Create a safe, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Use play-based learning, songs, stories, structured games, art, media, and other activities to engage children.
- Support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and motor development.
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with school and national curriculum standards.
- Assess and monitor children's learning, progress, and developmental milestones.
- Maintain effective daily communication with parents through communication books and other appropriate channels.
- Build strong home-school partnerships through regular parent interaction.
- Provide after-school enrichment activities and additional student support when required.
- Participate in INSET training and other professional development activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to overall school excellence.
- Support students with empathy, patience, and positive classroom management.
Qualifications & Experience
Candidates should have one of the following:
- Diploma in Kindergarten Teacher Training;
- Diploma in Chemistry or Biology; or
- BA/BSc/B.Ed. degree in any field of study.
Experience:
- Minimum 5–10 years of teaching experience in private schools.
- Strong experience working with kindergarten/early childhood learners is highly relevant.
- Preference will be given to teachers who can teach multiple subjects.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Fluent English with the ability to conduct classroom instruction entirely in English.
- Strong lesson planning and classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High empathy, patience, energy, and passion for child development.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- High professional and ethical standards.
- Positive, flexible, and proactive attitude.
- Strong problem-solving and adaptability skills.
- Willingness to participate in INSET training and after-school activities.
- Familiarity with educational platforms such as E-Learn is an advantage.
- Knowledge of educational planning, management, or school leadership is an advantage.
Salary
💰 Minimum Gross Salary: 20,500 ETB
