Job Description
Heineken Ethiopia is hiring 3 Packaging Operators to operate packaging equipment safely and efficiently, maintain product and process quality, reduce production losses, and contribute to a safe and effective working environment.
Job Summary
The Packaging Operator will ensure safety in daily operations and execute process and product-related tasks according to established standards. The role focuses on safe equipment operation, quality and food safety, environmental practices, performance improvement, and reducing production losses.
Responsibilities
- Follow safety, environmental, food safety, 5S, housekeeping, and HACCP standards.
- Identify and report safety risks, unsafe conditions, and unsafe behaviors.
- Safely start up and shut down equipment and operate packaging machines according to established standards.
- Perform quality and food safety checks and identify quality issues in the assigned area.
- Participate in improvement activities to prevent quality issues and reduce operational losses.
- Clean and disinfect equipment according to applicable standards, SOPs, and CILT requirements.
- Execute tagging, de-tagging, CILT activities, and basic problem-solving processes.
- Use available digital tools to report shift handovers, downtime, and performance information.
- Identify water, energy, material, and other operational losses and suggest solutions.
- Participate in TPM and other improvement activities related to safety, quality, environment, and performance.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on simple packaging machines according to standards.
- Capture and interpret performance data and take corrective actions when required.
- Maintain documentation and reporting for the assigned working area.
- Operate equipment according to production demand and seasonality while ensuring On Time In Full delivery.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience, preferably in beverage or logistics operations/shop-floor environments.
- Ability to follow safety, quality, environmental, and food safety standards.
- Ability to work with packaging equipment and perform basic operational tasks.
- Willingness to participate in continuous improvement activities.
