Job Description

AFRICOM Technologies is seeking experienced Project Directors to provide strategic leadership and direction for large-scale, high-impact projects. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with organizational goals. The Project Director oversees multiple project teams, manages key stakeholders, ensures governance compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for assigned projects.
  • Align project objectives with AFRICOM’s vision and strategy.
  • Develop project roadmaps and long-term plans.
  • Advise executive management on risks, opportunities, and performance.

Project Oversight & Governance

  • Ensure effective project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Establish governance structures, policies, and performance standards.
  • Track KPIs, milestones, budgets, and resource utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage project budgets.
  • Approve expenditures and ensure cost control.
  • Provide financial forecasts and performance reports.
  • Ensure optimal resource allocation across projects.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as primary liaison between leadership, clients, partners, and teams.
  • Manage high-level client relationships and contracts.
  • Resolve escalated issues and conflicts.
  • Present project updates to board members and senior executives.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor Project Managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Build high-performing project teams.
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and professional development guidance.

Risk & Quality Management

  • Identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Ensure quality standards and best practices.
  • Implement corrective actions when necessary.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • B.A/M.A degree in Project Management or related discipline
  • 10/8 years of experience in project management, with 5/4 years as Project Director or equivalent
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification preferred
  • Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-million-budget projects
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
